Bio

Greg Fitzsimmons is priceless. Many blame it on his childhood. The only child of a Cuban woman who brought him to this country on a raft and dressed him as a little girl before entering him in beauty pageants all through Colorado. Deep inside his soul, there is a great gaping hole. He simply does not like himself, causing him to do desperate things like climb onstage nightly in front of hundreds of total strangers, pathetically seeking their approval. He gets it --The New York Times calls him "New York Comedy's Golden Boy" with good reason. A regular to the late night and cable television circuits, comedy clubs, festivals, corporate gatherings and colleges, his list of appearances, awards and credentials run a mile long. Yet still, night after night the void cannot be filled.

So far, none of his accomplishments have helped --not even his Cable ACE Award for MTV's "Idiot Savants" or having his face plastered all over Comedy Central! His current work on "The Howard Stern Show" and appearances on the "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", "The Late Show with David Letterman", "The Late, Late Show with Craig Kilborn", "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno", "The Carson Daily Show", "Space Ghost" and "The Andy Dick Show" (to name a few of many) have only confirmed what he already knew. He was in a lifelong shame spiral.

Greg's recent Jury award for "Best Standup Comedian" at the Aspen Comedy Arts Festival isn't enough. Nor are his performances at the Toyota Comedy Festival in New York (feature), the Montreal International Comedy Festival (feature) and the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Greg tours the nation coast to coast between clubs and colleges. His act has recently taken him to places such as Holy Cross and Boston University in Massachusetts, Caroline's Comedy Club in New York City, Loyola University in Chicago, Funny Bone in Ohio and Gotham Hall in Santa Monica. You, the event planner can tap into Greg's vacuous need for acceptance by bringing him to your event, perhaps helping to pull him from the weeds. Look, nobody is saying an hour of love at your shindig is going to turn this guy's life around, but it may just buy him a little more time.

If you don't believe someone can give so much to so many and have none left for himself, catch a preview listening to "The Howard Stern Show" where Greg is a regular guest, or catch him hosting Comedy Central's "Summer Movie Marathon" and VH1's "I Love the 1980's."
