This Rider is attached to and made part of contract #_________, dated _______, between C.L. Lindsay (hereafter referred to as C.L.) and ________________________________ (hereafter referred to as PURCHASER).

All terms and provisions hereinafter and herein before set forth part of one and the same contract. Please initial in spaces provided at left to signify agreement.

Purchaser agrees to the following:

_____ Venue: Cafeterias and other open spaces are not suitable venues for this lecture. C.L. will be teaching the law which requires a captive audience. A large Classroom or auditorium is where a lecture of this nature needs to be held.

_____ Projector: An LCD projector for use with a laptop computer must be provided at PURCHASER’s sole cost. C.L. will bring his own laptop, but the school is responsible for providing the projector and the VGA cables necessary to connect the laptop to the projector. No internet connection is needed during the lecture.

_____ Screen: A screen must be provided at PURCHASER’s sole cost. This lecture is all about the images. The largest screen possible should be used. Portable screens are generally not sufficient. The screen should be the same size you would use to show a film to the same size audience. Trying to get by with a small screen will result in a much less effective lecture.

_____ Sound: If amplification is necessary a sound system and microphone must be provided at PURCHASER’s sole cost. Cordless is preferred, but generally any microphone will work so long as the cord is long enough to allow movement around the stage. A podium is not necessary.

_____ Video Taping of Lecture: Prior approval should be obtained from C.L. if you would like to make an audio or videotape of the program. If the program is taped C.L. is to receive a copy of all footage. News crews simply shooting clips for use in a story need not obtain permission. But any organization that wishes to tape the entire lecture must get prior approval.

____ Computing Policies: If C.L. is lecturing on campus computing, he must be given a complete copy of the school’s computing policies either via a link to the information on the university or college website, via email (Lindsay@co-star.org), or a hard copy via mail sent to (PO Box 491 Solebury, PA 18963) at least three (3) weeks prior to the performance date.

_____ Facebook Account: If C.L. is presenting on Campus Computing he must be given a Facebook account from your school. There are few ways to accomplish this. One, he can just borrow someone’s existing account. It can be a student’s account, a staff member’s, or even one from a campus group—often activities boards have a Facebook account. Or, two, you can assign C.L. his own email address from your school and he can go onto Facebook and create his own account on your school’s network.

_____ Books: C.L. will be happy to sign copies of his book (The College Student’s Guide to the Law—ISBN: 1589790898) but it is not feasible for him to travel with copies to sell. If you would like to have the book available for purchase at the event, please make arrangements through the campus or a local bookstore. The book is distributed by National Book Network:

_____ Media:  C.L. will be happy to meet before or after the show with the local/campus newspapers and other media if time allows.

_____ State Withholding: Some states levy a nonresident entertainer tax and require colleges to withhold a percentage from the final payment amount. If you plan on withholding any part of the agreed payment amount, this must be communicated to Bass-Schuler Entertainment DURING the negotiation process so that the deduction can be taken into account when calculating a performance price. If the withholding is not negotiated at the time of contracting, PURCHASER agrees that it will be solely responsible for any nonresident taxes incurred (i.e. the amount of the payment will be increased so that the final check will be for the amount agreed to).

_____ Accommodation:  Please provide a very clean and new hotel with excellent standards. Please arrange for the very best you can provide.  At minimum, the hotel should be on par with a Hampton or Fairfield Inn. Please avoid old chains such as Days Inn, Best Western, and Holiday Inn (although Holiday Inn Expresses are absolutely acceptable) as, on average, they’re too old - even after “renovations.” A non-smoking room is mandatory.  Off campus housing is preferred, though your school may offer first-class campus accommodations. Campus housing must have cable television and an internet connection.  Please avoid "Bed and Breakfast" accommodations unless all area hotels are inadequate.
