Girly shrieks, bare skin and party-like pictures were a small sample of what Tuesday night's performer, Joy Gohring did that caused a non-stop laugh fest in the Student Center Pit. This SUP sponsored event packed a surprisingly larger crowd than usual.

Touring comedian and film graduate student at UCLA, Gohring, shot onto the stage with a bubble of energy that stayed afloat for the whole act. Rowan's own, budding comedian senior Radio/TV/Film major Chaz Scheinblum opened up for the Austin, Texas native.

Gohring, who always wanted to be paid to travel, tinkered with comedy for ten years and claims it just "fell into my lap." She's lived in Los Angeles for six years and besides traveling all over the country, she often commutes to the U.K. for shows.

Gohring is most popular for her role as the Albino Folk Singer in 2001's "Not Another Teen Movie." She got the role after playing softball with director Joel Gallen in Hollywood, she said. Gohring also starred as Jane on Oxygen's TV show "Good Girls Don't," which ran for seven episodes and ended a year ago. Dane Cook guest starred as her boyfriend for one episode.

Celebrities Gohring has worked with include Andy Dick, Kyle Gass, David Cross, Sarah Silverman and Alanis Morissette. She said Cook was her favorite to work with, as "he understands how to be funny." Gohring said Morissette is fun to work with also and recommends fans to check out her "Lady Humps" video on YouTube.

Gohring involved the audience with nearly every joke and ran through the audience often. She walked in passing out fake roses and shaking hands, but then gets on stage thanking everyone for the flowers, waiting for them to be thrown on stage.

Many jokes led back to her exposing her stomach, saying "you like this." She wants to highlight that it is okay to be comfortable with imperfections, like a little tummy. She said her favorite comedians are the "quirky oddballs" like Steve Carell, Molly Shannon and Will Ferrell.
